Bloomberg assessed what the "ceasefire" with Putin will mean for Ukraine and the West.

Ceasefire and negotiations with Russia - will they lead to peace in Ukraine?
Bloomberg analysts note that while everyone wishes to end the conflict, a simple ceasefire may do more harm than good. The war has already caused much suffering and destruction and poses a threat to geopolitical stability and the global economy. President Zelensky states that only a strong Ukraine can force Putin to come to the negotiating table, but the Kremlin has unacceptable demands. A mistaken ceasefire could lead to serious consequences for Ukraine, including an increase in Russian troops and the threat to international support. Bloomberg suggests measures that the United States and its allies can take to assist Ukraine and ensure its security.
However, it is necessary to remember that Putin has repeatedly violated ceasefires and agreements. Because of this, without proper safeguards, a ceasefire will not stop the war or benefit Ukraine. Therefore, decisive actions need to be taken to ensure peace and security in the region.
