Why the Russian Federation manipulates the issue of prisoner exchanges: explanation from the CPD.

Russian media distort facts about prisoner exchanges. The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalенко, emphasized that Ukraine adheres to all agreements regarding exchanges, while the Russian Federation continues to manipulate this issue and conducts an active information attack against Ukraine.
«They will not be able to lie – everyone sees the truth,» – noted Kovalенко.
The mentioned agreement, reached during negotiations in Istanbul on June 2, provides for the exchange of severely wounded and sick prisoners of war, as well as the return of deceased soldiers. This act of exchange is of great importance for resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine is fulfilling its part of the agreement, while Russia continues to use this topic to achieve its political goals. Such actions pose a threat to the peace process and undermine efforts of international cooperation.
In summary, Ukrainian and Russian media consistently sharpen their pens, juggling the burdens of truth and lies. Real information is important for Ukrainians and Russians, as it determines the further development and relations between the countries.
