Grain exports from Ukraine have decreased by 20%.


Since the beginning of the current marketing year, Ukraine has reduced its grain exports compared to the same period of the previous year. According to the State Customs Service, grain and legume exports from July to June amounted to 38.777 million tons.
Currently, this figure is 10 million tons less than last year. In June 2024, only 475 thousand tons of grain were exported, which is three times less than in June of the previous year, when the figure exceeded 1.449 million tons.
Overall, grain exports look as follows: wheat - 15.015 million tons, corn - 20.89 million tons, barley - 2.305 million tons, rye - 10.8 thousand tons. Corn is the main export crop, accounting for more than half of all grain shipments.
The reduction in grain exports may be related to various reasons, such as logistical difficulties due to military actions, a smaller area of sowing due to conflict conditions, as well as the desire to meet domestic food needs. This may negatively impact the country's economy, as grain exports have a significant impact on Ukraine's currency stability.
