The main candidate for the position of head of the Bureau of Economic Security explained why his father received a Russian passport.

Oleksandr Skoromov, head of the NABU detective unit, spoke about how his father obtained Russian citizenship through forced passportization during the occupation of the Luhansk region. Many Ukrainians were forced to do this in order to have basic rights and services.

“My father, who currently lives in Kyiv, was forcibly passported with “documents” from the aggressor country while in occupation in the Luhansk region... The main motivation for my father to obtain a passport was to leave the temporarily occupied territory without hindrance,” Skoromov noted.
