The Ministry of Defense approved over 120 new types of weapons for operation in April.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is enhancing the combat capability of the Armed Forces by introducing over 120 new samples of weapons and military equipment into operation. The majority of them are domestic developments. This information is provided by the Ministry of Defense.
According to Deputy Minister of Defense Valeriy Churkin, since the beginning of 2025, over 400 units of weapons and military equipment of Ukrainian production have been codified, indicating a rapid development of the Ukrainian defense industry.
In April, new samples of military equipment were put into operation, including unmanned aerial systems and ammunition for them, electronic warfare means, and automotive equipment. Work is also underway on the creation of advanced communication means and ground robotic complexes.
The use of fiber optics for controlling unmanned aerial systems provides them with resistance to enemy electronic warfare means and ensures high-quality data transmission.
Deputy Minister of Defense Valeriy Churkin emphasized the necessity for further technological development of the army. He believes that the existing weapons are insufficient and adds that every military unit needs to be reinforced with unmanned systems.
In 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine put into operation over 330 domestic unmanned systems. This is a significant increase compared to 2023 when only 75 such systems were utilized. According to Valeriy Churkin, unmanned systems are a leading direction in the development of weapons globally.
