Norway has approved €3.1 billion in aid to Ukraine.

The Parliament of Norway approved the decision to expand the Support Program for Ukraine and allocate new funding next year on November 28. According to this decision, Ukraine will receive at least 35 billion Norwegian kroner (3.1 billion euros) in aid.

'Norway unequivocally supports Ukraine and intends to continue this support for many years. It is important for us that the Ukrainian people know that our assistance is sustainable and has broad political support,' said Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

According to the new decision, the funding for the Support Program in 2025 will amount to at least 35 billion Norwegian kroner (3.1 billion euros). Of this amount, 22.5 billion Norwegian kroner (1.9 billion euros) will be allocated for military support, and 12.5 billion Norwegian kroner (1.1 billion euros) will be allocated for humanitarian and civilian support.

The support program will continue until 2030, with the total funding for this period amounting to at least 154.5 billion Norwegian kroner.

The Government of Norway also announced cooperation with Ukraine for the effective allocation of assistance provided.

'We plan to use the assistance in areas where it is most needed. We will pay special attention to military support and ensure funding for proper access to electricity for the Ukrainian population, considering the destruction of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine by the Russian regime,' the Prime Minister noted.

The provided support will be implemented through the Nansen Support Program for Ukraine, which started operating in 2023. It is planned to allocate 75 billion Norwegian kroner over a five-year period from 2023 to 2027, with annual payments of 15 billion kroner.

Since the launch of the program, the amount of annual financial aid has been increased several times. In 2024, Ukraine received support in the amount of 27 billion Norwegian kroner.
