The U.S. Department of Defense plans to allocate $6.7 billion to assist Ukraine and supply weapons to Ukrainian troops. This was announced by U.S. Defense Department spokesperson General Patrick Ryder.
According to him, the main goal is to provide assistance to Ukraine in the field of security as quickly and effectively as possible.
'We intend to spend as much money as possible to provide assistance to Ukraine in ensuring its security,' said the Pentagon representative.
He also noted that the Defense Department will be informed about the developments and potential consequences of a possible cessation of assistance supplies due to a U.S. shutdown.
It should be reminded that the U.S. government allocated $5.6 billion for the purchase of weapons from its stocks, as well as $1.13 billion to finance the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.
