President sets tasks for the Ministry of Defense regarding interceptors — what to expect.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Monday, July 21, about the tasks of the Ministry of Defense under the leadership of Denys Shmyhal. According to him, the first decisions will occur this week.

The Ukrainian leader said this during the official presentation of Denys Shmyhal in his new position.

“Another massive strike, calculated to overload our air defense and attempt to bypass the capabilities of our warriors to shoot down drones and missiles,” Zelensky said.

He noted that the day before, Russian propaganda circulated a video of the production of bodies for Shahed drones in Russia, trying to intimidate our people.

“The country needs a response proportionate to the threat against strikes, and all available effective interceptor drones must be contracted this week,” Zelensky remarked.

The Ukrainian leader clarified that some agreements had already been made, while work still needed to be done on others. In his opinion, currently, among the priorities should be the appropriate training of operators of such drones and the support of the entire infrastructure: from production to the use of interceptors.

As a reminder, at night, Russians attacked Ukraine with 450 drones and missiles, with hits recorded.

And on the front, 154 combat clashes occurred in the past day.

During the official presentation of the new head of the Ministry of Defense, the President of Ukraine spoke about the important tasks of this agency related to intercepting drones and responding accurately to enemy strikes. Zelensky also emphasized the importance of preparing operators and supporting infrastructure for the successful implementation of new technologies in the country's defense sphere.
