Social Protection and Payments - What Police Can Expect.

Ukrainian police officers can now rely on social protection. This includes service conditions, benefits, guarantees, and financial payments. The National Police has responded to a request regarding this social protection.

What Working Conditions are Provided for Police Officers

The Law 'On the National Police' contains detailed information about the social protection of law enforcement officers. Since police service has a special nature, some employees may work on holidays, at night, or with an irregular schedule. The social protection of police officers includes service hours, rest, housing, medical care, and other aspects as specified in the Law.

'The issues of social protection for police officers... are defined in section IX of the Law.'

Police officers who finish their service receive financial compensation for unused vacations and other additional payments. This also applies to individuals with children or children with disabilities.

One-Time Financial Assistance

According to the law, in the event of the death or loss of capacity of police officers, their families have the right to receive one-time financial assistance. This assistance is provided according to the relevant procedure.

One of the initiatives provides for the payment of 15 million hryvnias to the families of police officers who died as a result of injuries during military actions or other circumstances.

In addition to social guarantees for police officers, military personnel in Ukraine are also entitled to a number of benefits from the state. At the end of the year, some employees may receive an additional bonus, which is not mandatory.
