Spring Allergens: What You Need to Know to Prepare Your Body.

Spring: A Time of Trouble for Allergy Sufferers
The spring season can be a real test for people with allergies. According to RBC-Ukraine, there are some allergens that are especially dangerous in the spring. This material also discusses how to identify a predisposition to allergies before symptoms appear and how to protect the body during the flowering period.
The main allergen of the spring period in Ukraine is plant pollen. The strongest allergic reactions are caused by trees (birch, willow, poplar, oak, maple, walnut), grasses (timothy, couch grass, ryegrass), and some types of weeds (ragweed, wormwood, lamb's quarters). Polluted air makes pollen even more dangerous for the body.
Some people are more prone to allergies, and genetic testing can help determine this by revealing hereditary tendencies to allergens. It is also possible to determine the level of total Immunoglobulin E (IgE) in the blood. However, a consultation with an allergist is necessary for the correct interpretation of the results.
To prepare for the allergy season, it is recommended to take preventive antihistamines or topical nasal corticosteroids a few weeks before flowering begins. It is also wise to follow a few tips in everyday life, such as cleaning the air at home, limiting outdoor time during peak pollen concentration, monitoring pollen level forecasts, and preparing a first-aid kit with necessary medications.
