The teacher of the LNU branch in Chernivtsi was caught accepting a bribe - how she was punished.

The Chernivtsi District Court has issued a verdict regarding a teacher from the Chernivtsi Vocational College of the Lviv National University of Nature Management. The woman was found guilty of demanding and receiving an illegal benefit from a prospective student, whom she promised to help with admission. This is stated in the Unified Register of Court Decisions.

Case Details

The accused received 300 US dollars from the applicant in exchange for a promise of assistance in enrolling in the educational institution without a military accounting document. She denied her guilt, claiming that the applicant handed her the money voluntarily. She also explained that a military ticket is only required at the enrollment stage, and not during the submission of documents. After that, the student asked her to help with documents for the electronic system and promised to reward her.

Court Ruling

The court concluded that the collected evidence indicates the teacher's guilt in receiving a bribe, and therefore she was convicted. She was fined 51 thousand hryvnias. An appeal can be filed against this decision. Earlier, it was reported about a court proceeding against a member of the armed forces who offered another soldier a release for a bribe and was fined for it.
