YouTube blocked the channel of Oleksiy Arestovych and other sanctioned individuals.

The YouTube platform has blocked access to the channels of several individuals who are under sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. This information was released by the Center for Countering Disinformation on May 9, 2025, on its official social media pages.
Among the blocked channels are the accounts of Oleksiy Arestovych, as well as the YouTube channels of Kostiantyn Bondarenko, Dmytro Vasylets, Anastasia Kashevarova (DailyStorm, This is media), and Pavlo Onishchenko.
The Center for Countering Disinformation reminded that earlier the video hosting service had already blocked channels of other sanctioned individuals - Oleksandr Shelest and Vadym Karasiov. All of the mentioned channels are not operational in Ukraine, and their owners are under the sanctions imposed by the NSDC of Ukraine, enacted by the decrees of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It should be noted that the sanctions of the NSDC against Oleksiy Arestovych and 8 other individuals were introduced by the decree of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on May 1, 2025. These sanctions involve the blocking of assets, deprivation of state awards, restrictions on trade operations, a ban on media distribution in Ukraine, and the cessation of license validity.
The blocking of channels belonging to Ukrainian individuals under sanctions demonstrates the serious approach of the YouTube platform to comply with sanction restrictions and combat disinformation. It also shows that the Ukrainian authorities have the support of international partners in working to exclude unwanted individuals from influencing society through media.
