The Australian National Intelligence Service stated that the countries supporting Russia, including China, Iran, and North Korea, are forming an 'axis' with alarming consequences. This was reported by the Director-General of the Australian National Intelligence Service, Andrew Shearer, during the Raisina Downunder conference in Canberra.
According to Shearer, the strategic impact of this 'axis' has been underestimated. 'China's support for Putin in Ukraine through providing substantial assistance and economic and diplomatic backing is just as harmful as if Beijing were supplying them with weapons. This is a serious strategic problem that we are all trying to deal with,' Shearer noted.
